Used models are slowly coming back into stock – what dealers wont want is a glut of poor selling models back so may be choosy what they part ex?
Is the party over? By this we mean are sales dropping off, and that’s true, although our sources still tell us that demand is still there but now prices aren’t going to remain high. Prices are leveling out and while dealers are actively buying used this may come to a halt if new owners decide the price is too high and therefore decide to drop out of caravan ownership. What nobody wants to see is dealer’s forecourts over flowing with stock because this can cause used prices to fall and dealers holding financially too much and putting pressure on their overheads.
Will family tourers still be in demand? Well up to a point yes but again dealers will become fussy on what stock they take in. Those caravanners with lesser known brands from abroad may suffer with resale vales taking a tumble far more than expected. Some dealers won’t possibly want to be taking harder to sell stock in. Popular UK brands such as Elddis, Compass, Swift Group, Lunars and Bailey will suffer less. The market then will be closely watched by the manufacturers and the trade. Big family touring caravans offer plenty of space and sleeping arrangements so I have chosen four such possible models at various price points to check out, so see what my top choices are!
